Alpha-Omega Miracle Home

Alpha-Omega Miracle Home (AOMH) is a faith based non-profit 501(c)(3) offering a residential transitional housing program in St. Augustine, Florida, for homeless or soon-to-be-homeless single mothers, pregnant women and senior women.

84% of all homeless families are headed by a single mother in her 20s, according to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
The facility can house up to 36 single mothers and children for up to 2 years while the working to transition to independent, permanent housing.

AOMH broadly serves St. Johns County through various outreach initiatives: to increase care for homeless and low-income individuals and families in need of social services and material resources. a community diaper bank, an annual back-to-school Shoes of Hope giveaway, an Extended Families Program, adoption services, and their Thrift Shop.

The Community Diaper Bank was opened to serve families who had to choose between buying food or diapers for their children. This year, 7,280 diapers and wipes were given out in addition to baby food and formula, making it one of the largest diaper banks in the county.

In 2010, the Thrift Store was opened to help fund the transitional housing program and give unemployed residents a place to volunteer while they are looking for stable employment. The thrift store carried the ministry through the driest times of the Recession.

The Extended Families Program places 25 children per year with Christian foster families so that the mothers can become rehabilitated without the fear of losing their children permanently to the child welfare system.

A staff of on-site professionals
work with the women and our community agencies to help meet the needs of homeless women with children offering emotional and social support, counseling with a licensed psychologist or mental health counselor, educational assistance to either complete high school or attend community college, and help them achieve financial security through employment.

AOMH also help their resident mothers secure childcare and transportation while they are working towards self-sufficiency. All these needs are provided at a truly affordable fee, based on income.

All the staff and volunteers, are here to support single mothers, whether they choose parenting or the gift of adoption.
